Writing TV spots is like writing a short film - or play. I knew what I could do with 10 seconds on a bumper spot - what could I do with 10 whole minutes? My first short play, A Sari for Pallavi, was written in a LABYRINTH THEATRE class (Phillip Seymour Hoffman’s collective) and was accepted out of 1500 plays as a top 10 play in the Samuel French OOB Competition.
Because I like a challenge and growing in the uncomfortable, I raised 20k and made it into a short film, starring myself and well - myself. We were lucky enough to be recognized by the prestigious Oxford Film Festival and have been accepted into 17 other film festivals. Also we were recognized by AMY POEHLER’S SMART GIRLS collective, a showcase for women of all backgrounds who use their substance, wits, and grit to make things happen in life.
